I did it!! This is my second time running 3 miles and 30 minutes in the past week!! (I forgot to blog my first time…oops!)
I feel like I’ve conquered a big roadblock in my struggle with becoming truly fit. Today’s workout felt tough but doable. I am astonished at how quickly you can train your brain to view 30 minutes as a reasonable treadmill workout. A month ago, if I could do 10 on a treadmill I was doing great. I could do 20ish outside, but the treadmill scared me. Although I can’t wait for spring to come so I can more easily run outdoors (imagine how far I will be able to go by then!), I’m inspired to go longer and faster on the dread-treads.
Now if i could only conquer this stupid emotional/nighttime eating…
Workout:
i got on the dread-mill and pushed it for 20 minutes. my new music helped
sometimes i feel like i have bad form on the treadmill… i’m worried i will screw up my outdoor running form
Workout:
Breakfast- Special K Red Berries, nonfat milk, 1/2 wheat bagel with all-natural peanut butter (450)
Mid-morning- String cheese, saltine crackers, Special K protein water (190)
Lunch- PB&J sandwhich (only because the spoiled kids i babysit wouldn’t eat the first PB&J I made for THEM!… yeah, no excuse, but still, i was hungry…) (350)
Mid-afternoon- Salad, mini bagel with cream cheese, Pria bar (no, not all at one time) (350)
Dinner- Zesty Southwestern Chicken soup, tortilla chips, salsa, toast (400)
1,740… (ish)… ugh…. trying to lose a few so this isn’t the greatest eating day. i aim for 1,500 when i’m active.
point is, i’m an emotional eater, and its not noticeable to many except myself… something i really need to get over…blah… night time is the worst, i’m sure i’ll consume another 200 before i hit the sack…
Health:
yeah, my average pace is nothing to brag about, but at least i went out and ran. running is so mental for me that the hardest part is the first 30 seconds. i never run in the dark, but i kept to the main streets because the gym was the last place i wanted to be, yet i knew i HAD to run. my first steps were slick (washington snow) and i was relieved because i had already found an excuse to quit… but i knew that if i just walked up my street to the main road i would be fine.
so i did, and i ended up going out for more than 20 minutes, which is pretty good for me right now. i may not be able to feel my ears yet, but it was a nice, brief cardio session to sweat off some stress.
i want to be able to run an easy 3 miles in the next week.
